U2 Books Two Estadi Olímpic Nights in Barcelona for May 2027
U2 will play Barcelona's Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on May 13 and 15, 2027. Ticket sale dates, the presale and the rest of the European tour.

U2 will play two concerts at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, the Olympic stadium on Montjuïc, on May 13 and 15, 2027, Catalan news agency ACN reported. General ticket sales open on Nov. 13, with a presale a few days earlier.
The Barcelona dates belong to the band’s world tour Carnaval de Luz presents: The Greatest Show on Earth. According to 3Cat, the Catalan public broadcaster, it brings U2 back to the Olympic stadium ten years after its last visit, which was in 2017 with The Joshua Tree Tour.
How to get tickets for the Montjuïc shows
El Nacional and 3Cat both report that the presale starts on Nov. 9, and 3Cat says it will run through the band’s official website. For Europe, the general sale opens on Nov. 13 at 10.00 on the Live Nation and Ticketmaster websites, El Nacional reported. Ticket prices were not disclosed.
U2 releases its new album, also called Carnaval de Luz, on Nov. 13, the same day general sales begin. El Nacional says it is the Dublin band’s sixteenth studio album. It includes a duet with Dolly Parton and a song inspired by the Catalan singer Rosalía.
What this means for Barcelona and Spain
Barcelona is one of two Spanish stops. U2 also plays the Estadio de La Cartuja in Sevilla on May 22, so fans elsewhere in Spain get a second option a week after the Barcelona shows. Two nights at the Olympic stadium on Montjuïc will bring big crowds to the hill and its access routes on both dates, although no transport or traffic plans have been announced yet.
The British rock band Wolf Alice will open the European concerts, according to 3Cat.
The rest of the world tour
The tour opens on Feb. 23 in Mexico City, ACN reported, and marks the band’s return to large stadiums. El Nacional says U2 has not played a stadium tour since The Joshua Tree Tour, which ended with a concert in Mumbai in December 2019.
From February to March the band tours Latin America, with two shows in each country, including Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. El Nacional reports that those shows have sold out and that extra dates were added.
The European leg starts in Stockholm on April 26 and continues to Amsterdam, Berlin, Lisbon, Milan, Paris and London. Sources list these cities in different orders, and full dates for each city were not given. The United States comes after Europe, with dates still to be announced, and the band has said the tour will end at home in Ireland.
A 50th anniversary year
U2, made up of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr., formed in Dublin in 1976 and marks its 50th anniversary in 2026. The band’s breakthrough came late in the eighties with The Joshua Tree, released in 1987. El Nacional counts sixteen albums, around twenty tours and twenty-two Grammy awards.
The anniversary celebrations started on Sept. 25, when the band played for students and teachers at Mount Temple Comprehensive, its old school, and gave a surprise performance on Grafton Street in Dublin. Last month U2 announced the new album.
ACN says the stadium shows will cover the band’s whole career. The first single, The Greatest Show on Earth, is already out. El Nacional reports that it was written with Brian Eno and tells the story of a couple trying to keep faith in their relationship. Anton Corbijn directed the video, which was filmed in a California desert.
