La Meva Salut: How to Use Catalonia’s Public Health App
Catalonia's public health portal holds your appointments, prescriptions and reports. Logging in is changing, so here is the current route for newcomers.

La Meva Salut is the free personal health portal and app of Catalonia’s public health service, CatSalut. Anyone aged 16 or over with a CatSalut health card (TSI) can use it to book appointments at their CAP (local health center), see test results, reports, medication and vaccines. As of November 2026, new users log in with idCAT Mòbil or a digital certificate.
Who can use La Meva Salut?
According to CatSalut, you need three things:
- to be 16 or older, the age of medical majority in Catalonia’s health system
- a TSI (targeta sanitària individual, the individual health card); if you do not have one yet, our guide to getting the CatSalut health card explains the steps
- an accepted digital ID to log in
Parents and legal guardians can ask at the CAP for access to the records of children under 18. For 16 and 17-year-olds, the young person must also consent. That access ends automatically when the child turns 18.
How do you log in?
The login options changed in 2026. CatSalut is phasing out the old username and password to protect health data, and it no longer creates new passwords. People who already have one can keep using it for now, but CatSalut expects the password login to stop working in early 2027.
| Method | How you get it | Notes, as of November 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| idCAT Mòbil | Online through the Generalitat’s assistant, or in person at a Generalitat citizen service office (OAC) | Free, does not expire and needs no app; you receive a one-time code by SMS |
| Digital certificate or electronic DNI | From an issuer such as the FNMT | Web version only; also opens your Spain-wide digital health record and the European Patient Summary |
| Password from the CAP | No longer issued to new users | Existing passwords work with a five-digit SMS code, expected until early 2027 |
| Cl@ve | Not yet available | CatSalut says it will be added soon, without a date |
For most newcomers, idCAT Mòbil is the simplest route because it works in both the app and the web portal and is also used by many Catalan and Barcelona city procedures. Our guide to digital certificates, Cl@ve and idCAT compares it with the other IDs.
What can you do in the app?
CatSalut lists these services in La Meva Salut:
- request an appointment (cita prèvia) at your CAP and see the visits you have booked
- check your current medication plan
- read and download clinical reports, diagnoses and test results
- see your vaccination record
- send a non-urgent question to your health professionals through eConsulta
- check your position on surgical waiting lists
- see your advance directives document, if you registered one, and information on organ and tissue donation
- fill in health questionnaires
The app is available for Android, iOS and Huawei phones, and uses the same login details as the web version.
How do you book a GP appointment?
- Log in to the app or the website with idCAT Mòbil or your existing password and SMS code.
- Open the appointments section (Cita prèvia) and choose a visit with your family doctor or nurse at your assigned CAP.
- Pick one of the available slots and confirm.
- Check the booking under your scheduled visits; you can cancel there if you can no longer attend.
Appointments are with the CAP you are assigned to. If you move within Barcelona, update your padrón and ask at the CAP near your new home about changing your assignment.
Is La Meva Salut available in English?
Do not count on full English. CatSalut’s information pages offer automatic translation into English, Spanish and French, but the health content itself is written in Catalan or Spanish. These are the words you will see most often:
| Catalan | English |
|---|---|
| Cita prèvia | Appointment |
| Pla de medicació | Medication plan |
| Resultats | Results |
| Informes | Reports |
| Vacunes | Vaccines |
| Llista d’espera | Waiting list |
| Metge de família / Infermera | Family doctor / Nurse |
Reports from your doctor can be downloaded as documents and translated separately if you need them in another language.
What if you cannot log in or need care now?
If idCAT Mòbil does not recognize you, check that your TSI is active and that the mobile number registered with the CAP is correct. Certificate holders whose certificate is not accepted can ask the issuer to request inclusion, or call 061 Salut Respon for help. The app is not for emergencies: for urgent symptoms call 112 or 061, as described in our guide to urgent care in Barcelona.
Bottom line
Get idCAT Mòbil now even if you still have a CAP password, since the password is due to stop working in early 2027. Once you are in, download your vaccination record and any past reports, which saves time when you see a new doctor or need paperwork for travel or work.
